  1. Age Range: Programs are generally designed for riders ages 8-18. Exceptions for younger riders may be considered case by case if they can participate safely.
  2. Club Membership: Junior riders must be part of Move Up Cycling Club to participate. Junior club membership is free using the code shown on the signup page.
  3. Family Support: A parent or guardian should remain available for younger riders and help coaches when needed.
  4. Race-Day Kit: Junior riders who race with Move Up should wear the assigned Move Up jersey at club-supported and USAC race events unless a coach has approved an exception in advance.

  • Coaching, mentorship, and encouragement from experienced coaches and veteran athletes.
  • A performance-minded junior community built around growth, confidence, teamwork, and enjoyment of the sport.
  • Skills practice and race preparation across road, MTB, and cyclocross seasons.
  • Support for select race entries through club fundraising and donor support when available.
  • Junior members do not pay annual club dues before age 19.

Clear team representation matters, especially on race day.

  • Junior riders should plan to purchase a Move Up team jersey for race use.
  • The rose jersey is the standard starting point for junior riders.
  • Teal jerseys recognize riders who have grown into higher levels of racing performance, leadership, and mentorship within the club.
  • Coach jerseys are reserved for coaches working in an official coaching role.
  • If a junior rider is racing with Move Up at a USAC event or a club-supported team event, the assigned Move Up jersey should be worn unless a coach has approved an exception ahead of time.
  • NICA and other special team situations can be worked through case by case with Coach Kent so representation is clear.
